ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
The Association for Chinese Economic Studies Australia (ACESA) in conjunction with the School of
Economics, Finance and Marketing at RMIT University is proud to announce the 21st ACESA Annual
Conference to be held in Melbourne, Australia, 14-16 July 2009.
The theme:
China in the post WTO environment: bilateral financial flows and investment strategies.
Main topics:
· China’s open door policy
· Privatisation and public sector reform in China
· Integration of China and the Asia-Pacific
· Financial globalisation and its implications for China
· China’s offshore investments
· China and Australia - trade and investment perspectives
· Agricultural and rural development in China
· Global cities and urban development in China
· Resource demand and long-term strategies
· Climate change and environmental management
· Innovation and high-tech entrepreneurship
· Country risk and crisis management

The 21st ACESA Conference

Electronic Submission:
Authors are invited to submit electronically (either in MS Word or PDF format) a complete paper to:
ACESA@rmit.edu.au.
Publication:
A selection of papers will be considered for publication in the form of book or special journal issue. The
selection will follow a double-blind refereeing process.
Prizes:
Two prizes (AU$1,000 each) will be awarded, one for the Best Paper and one for the Best PhD Student
Paper.
Deadlines:
· Submission of the abstract: 30 April 2009
· Early bird registration: 15 May 2009.
· Registration for paper presenters: 20 June
· Submission of the full paper: 30 June 2009
· Registration for all other participants: 5 July 2009
