Revisiting China's spatial economy: Analysing 30 years of industry agglomeration

主讲人 Hans Koster 简介 <p>This paper investigates the role of Marshallian agglomeration forces --- input-output sharing, labour market pooling, and knowledge spillovers --- in shaping industry agglomeration in China from 1989 to 2020. We find that these forces strongly affect privately-owned manufacturing firms in ways similar to Western economies, whereas their impact on state-owned enterprises is negligible. The importance of labour market pooling declines, whereas the importance of knowledge spillovers increases over time. Labour market pooling influences the co-agglomeration of services firms. The impact of agglomeration forces on the location of primary-sector firms is minimal.</p>

主讲人简介 <p>Hans Koster是阿姆斯特丹自由大学（Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam）空间经济学系的城市经济学与房地产学教授。汉斯还是丁伯根研究所的研究员，以及经济政策研究中心（CEPR）的研究合伙人。</p> <p>汉斯的研究主要涉及城市、区域和环境的经济分析。他的兴趣在于理解住房和土地市场的运作、企业和人口在城市中的集聚、区位导向性政策的影响、城市中的收入不平等和隔离现象，以及城市内零售和商业物业市场的运行。汉斯的研究依赖于大数据并运用前沿的计量经济学方法。</p> <p>在2023年，汉斯在《ESB荷兰经济学家排行榜》中排名第10位，2022年排名第14位，2021年排名第21位，2020年排名第24位。</p> <p>汉斯是Regional Science and Urban Economics 的副编辑，并且为Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of the European Economic Association, American Economics Journal: Applied Economics, American Economics Journal: Economic Policy, American Political Science Review, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Economic Geography, European Economic Review, Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, Transportation Research Part B等多本国际顶尖学术期刊审稿。</p> 期数 宏观与发展经济学前沿讲座第十四期
